OK, it's official. I cannot think of anything I love more than spring time (except my sweet family, of course)!. The weather, the colors, the sunshine, and kiddos in bright colors just make spring time so amazingly beautiful! This is my favorite from my spring session today. This little darling just turned 4 and not only took amazing photos, but she was a super great helper with her little 11-month-old sister! It was so much fun, and I cannot wait until the little sister's one year old birthday milestone session and cake smash! Stay tuned for that session soon! ♥

Finding the Golden Light! - Keller, TX Newborn, Maternity, Child and Senior Photographer - Memories in a Flash Photography

Oh, that golden light! I was doing some scouting in Fort Worth today, and I just love this lighting. Very soon it will have spring blooms that should last all the way through to next winter! I look forward to using this beautiful light in an upcoming shoot. I am so excited that the warm weather is finally here so I can take my photography shoots outdoors a bit. I had so much fun during this newborn session. This little guy only woke up once to eat and was out like a light the rest of the session! He was a perfect fit for the antique carriage that I found a few weeks ago. I have been dying to use it, and Wyatt was just PERFECT for it! I also used my own photo props that I personally crochet! I'm thinking of opening an Etsy store for my crochet photo props, so keep checking the blog for more updates on that! ♥

I love to work your own personal touch into your session so your photos really become a part of your family. In a recent session, a dear friend of mine brought her late mother's jewelry over. I wanted to create a photo that linked her beautiful mother to her daughter who was born mere months before the grandmother's passing. So North Texas has been flirting with spring for a couple of weeks now, and yesterday we got another blast of that arctic air. So I gathered up some kiddos and brought spring inside with some great spring props! I love my studio; it has amazing natural light. But I am definitely ready for spring - as I'm sure we all are! - so we can get these kiddos outside and enjoy some warm sunshine! ♥

When Are Patterns OK in a Photo Session? - Memories in a Flash Photography - Keller, TX Child, Newborn, and Senior Photographer

If you have a relatively non-busy location for your outdoor photo session, patterns are a great idea to help boost interest in the photo. Especially in the gray months of winter, a little pattern of colors can really make the photo. Make sure that if you have more than one child in the photo that the pattern colors coordinate, but matching outfits will detract from the photo. Let the color fun begin! ♥

So you would think that having kids of my own would make practicing photography quite easy. Wrong! If there's one thing my kids hate more than homework it's my camera!
